| Recruitment, Retention and Insurance Promotion: |

Each council must be proactive in its approach to
membership to ensure success. After all, without a strong membership
base and regular efforts to attract new Knights, none of the important
council efforts on behalf of the Church and community would be
possible. |

The membership committee is organized into three areas:
- Recruitment:
Every Knight can and should play a role as individual recruiters or as part of
recruitment teams. Our council must be proactive in its approach to membership to
ensure success. You cannot sit back and expect membership growth on its own.
- Retention: Our Order loses many members within the 1st or
2nd year after initiation because they are uninformed on the programs, objectives and
achievements of the Knights of Columbus. Many leave due to the lack of opportunity
to work on an activity committee they found interesting;
- Insurance Promotion: The KofC insurance program is
operated solely for the benefit of its members and their families. Thus it is in a position
to offer a variety of insurance certificates comparable to policies sold anyway - and at
competitive cost.
