July Family of the Month

Ken Franch

Ken likes to go by the name of “PGK” which stands for Past Grand Knight.  Ken works tirelessly at his job but still finds time to be father to his daughters and sons.  Not an easy task for a single parent, but one that Ken does very well.

Joke of the Quarter

A blonde woman named Brandi finds herself in dire trouble. Her business has gone bust and she's in
serious financial straits. She's so desperate that she decides to ask God for help.

She begins to pray. Oh dear God, please help me. I've lost my business and if I don't get some money, I’m going to lose my house as well. Please let me win the Lotto."

Lotto night comes and she does not win. Brandi again prays... "God, please let me win the lotto! I've lost my business, my house and now I'm going to lose my car."

Lotto night comes and Brandi still has no luck. Once again, she prays... " Dear Lord, why have you forsaken me? I've lost my business, my house, and my car. My children are starving. I don't often ask for help, and I have always been a good servant to you. PLEEEEASE let me win the lotto just one time so I can get my life back in order.

Suddenly, there is a blinding flash of light as the heavens open and Brandi is confronted by the voice of God Himself saying . . . "BRANDI, WORK WITH ME ON THIS. BUY A TICKET."

Grand Knight’s Corner

There are an infinite number of things that can happen to each of us, or those we know each day.   The events that happen each day present either obstacles or opportunities.  Looking for opportunities strengthen our character and the character of those around us.

Robert Frost spoke about how taking the road less traveled made all the difference in his life.  As you go through your day, take a different “road” from time to time and discover the differences that lay in wait around each of us.

The First anniversary of September 11th is upon us and we are all dealing with a flood of emotions.  Over this past year we have been tasked with many things.  Please remember the heroes who worked to save the fallen and the families they left behind.

It has been a tough struggle, yet anything worth achieving is worth the time and effort we have put forward.  We, America, are on a different road that we have ever traveled, may this new road strengthen us and show us new opportunities to further demonstrate the character that has made us great.

May God Bless This Land of Ours!

Fraternally yours,

Mark B. Henry
